The Ministry for Culture and Heritage has allocated eight new FM radio licences for non-commercial community broadcasting. Four are in the North Island (Hawkes Bay, Bay of Plenty, Taranaki and Wellington) and four in the South Island (Nelson, Christchurch, Dunedin and Invercargill).
